Team Hack Attack at the World Masters Games

Lose out in quarter finals 🙁

Our very own mixed team of

Gord Turcotte, Karen Johnson, Kerry Johnson, Christine Dewar

have head across the pond to represent Canada in the 2020 Winter World Masters Games in Innsbruck, Austria. Hobby athletes as well as ambitious athletes can participate at the WWMG 2020. Current professional athletes are not allowed to participate. For curling, athletes in Mixed must be 35 years of age or older. In Mixed Doubles participants must be 50 years of age.

They did great. They went 5-1 in the round-robin, placing 5th overall. They played Russia 1 from Group A in the quarter finals. They were tied going into the 8th end, but they had to steal the win. Unfortunately, they didn’t pull it off. Good curling team!

They are Team CAN 3 and you can view the full schedule here. You can watch the archive of games here.

  1. We had a great time. Thanks to everyone back at HCC for their support and encouragement. All curlers should give this a try, it really is an incredible experience.
