Golf Tournament Update
Thank you, to all the members who completed our survey about the Annual Huntley Golf Tournament.
The overwhelming response was to go forward and plan an event for this year. Our first order of business was to book a date and venue.
Save the date for June 17th at the Greensmere Golf Course.
Details about sign up, cost and numbers will follow in the coming weeks. So check for notices at the club, online and via email.
To those of you who indicated a willingness to help, thank you and we would love to get your names. So please email any of us from the list below as the survey was confidential so we could not see names.

Our curlers still rock!
In the Ottawa Valley Senior Men’s League, with 40 teams competing across many local clubs every Wednesday, Huntley provided the following winners:
- League Champions – Skip Tom Watters, Murray Pearson, Dave Blaker, Rick Perry
- Second Division Champions – Skip Lorne Rice, Jim Collings, Kevin Johnson, Derick MacKenzie, Don Demaine
Club events
- A very successful Mad Hatter Spiel was held March 4th, with Events Director Cory Mundy hosting a very fun day with lots of great food. This is an annual signature event within our club and it is always a great time.
- Presidents Challenge Cup March 11-12 – We have 10 teams participating in different categories, and 3 other clubs are providing the same. Competition starts Friday evening at 5:00pm and goes all day through Saturday and Sunday. Please come to the club to support your favourite teams.
- We have numerous tickets available for the Men’s Worlds in April, and we will be awarding these in various ways to members over the next few weeks. So get involved with events and volunteering – you can win these tickets.
- CurlON upcoming event: The Silver Tankard Double rink event is coming up, and the entry deadline is March 13 at 9:30am – this is a fun event, check it out at the CurlON website.
Other help is needed:
- Rock handle promotion: The Board is offering to put your name on our rock handles – the cost is $250 per individual, and $500 minimum for a business – contact president@old.huntleycurling.ca.
- Men’s Worlds promotion: We will have weekly draws this month for tickets to the Men’s Worlds for those who contribute, as well as other prizes – please contribute to the raffles.
- The HCC Board can use some more help – We need a Communications Director/ Volunteers Director/Marketing Director, and probably a few others. Contact president@old.huntleycurling.ca if you think you have the smarts to be effective on our curling Board. This club survives on our volunteers’ involvement.
- Volunteers for food preparation prior to and during the President’s Cup, email Cory at events@old.huntleycurling.ca – we need your help.
