2023 Annual General Meeting

This year’s AGM will be held on Thursday, September 7 starting at 6:30pm. You can attend in person at the club or join online. We need to know who is planning on attending, especially for those joining online. Click on the appropriate link below to send an email which tells us how you will participate.
I will be….

Those who choose to attend online will be sent details on how to join the Google Meeting a few days before the event. The slides for the AGM presentation will be available for everyone through the website a couple days before the AGM.

This year, the Board of Directors is proposing a few key amendments to the Constitution and By-Laws which will be voted upon in the AGM. We encourage everyone to review the list of amendments in this document prior to the meeting. For contextual purposes, click here to view the existing Constitution & By-Laws document (members only).

Volunteers sought for Carp Fair (Sept 22-24)

As is our tradition, we are running a BBQ tent at the Fair selling sausages, hotdogs, and drinks. In addition, we will be selling breakfast again each morning of the fair (Friday/Saturday/Sunday).

These have traditionally made a good sum for the club and allowed us an opportunity to communicate to people what curling and membership at Huntley is all about.

We will need at least 5 volunteers per shift to make sure we can keep up with the demand. Please sign up for 3-hour shifts by emailing our Volunteer Director specifying the role and time that you prefer.

This event is an easy way to complete your volunteer hours for the coming season, or for last season if you have not been able to complete them yet. Don’t delay – sign up now.

To view more details on the work we need volunteers to complete and the variety of shift hours we need to fill, see this document.

First Aid Needs/Course

The Club needs to have several people who are First Aid trained to assist in the event of an emergency. If you are certified, please let us know so we can post your name. Ideally, we always need someone who is certified in the building when the club is open.

To help with this, we will be offering a First Aid course at the Club on September 16th and 17th. We are looking for a maximum of 15 attendees. The cost to you for the course is $135.00.

If you would like to participate, please indicate your interest by emailing our Volunteer Director on or before September 3rd.
