On behalf of the Board of Directors, Huntley Curling Club welcomes you to the 2022/23 season! We are off to a good start with a successful Carp Fair. The Ice Team is in the process of ice preparation, and we expect to have our club ready by Friday, October 7th. The first league play commences Tuesday, October 11th. League members should expect to receive their schedules around Thanksgiving weekend.
There are a few administrative details you must be aware of:
- We have a revised COVID-19 Safety Protocol for the season. There are few restrictions but please be sure to review.
- New members and anyone who did not curl last season are required to sign and submit a Waiver before starting curling. Once these are on file, you do not need to submit annually.
- All members under 26 years of age are required to annually sign and submit the Receipt for Concussion Awareness form, before curling. Please review the club’s Concussion Policy.
Practice Ice and Clinics
There will be Practice Ice available Thanksgiving weekend (Oct 8-10) from 12:00-8:00pm, 1 or 2-hour time slots available. Book your time through Jim at match@old.huntleycurling.ca.
We are having a Member Clinic on Saturday, October 15th, 12:00-6:00, 2-hour time slots available. Book your time through Jim at match@old.huntleycurling.ca. Dave and Lida Cormier have agreed to host the clinic so you will receive great instruction!
We are also hosting a TRY CURLING OPEN HOUSE, open to the public (8 years and older) on Sunday, October 16th, 1:00-5:00pm. We have advertised this and expect a lot of interest.
Volunteers Needed
Each of the above events will require Volunteers to help – greeters, equipment fitters, trainers on the ice etc. Get your volunteer hours done at the start of the season! Contact Jim at match@old.huntleycurling.ca if you can help.
Looking for a Team?
There is still room in several leagues, and we could use some members to add into them as follows:

- Tuesday AFT Give ‘N Take – 7 teams, more needed
- Wednesday Twilight – 18 persons, can use plenty more
- Wednesday PM Mixed – Dwayne needs a lady to finish the team
- Thursday PM Open – One team missing a player
- Friday AM Stick – 7 teams, more needed
- Saturday AM Mixed Doubles – 5 teams – really need one more
If you have any questions, please contact Jim at match@old.huntleycurling.ca.
