Over the past weekend, two teams represented Huntley in the CurlON Club Championsip at the Hunt Club CC in Ottawa. This competition is meant for the champions in regular club leagues to come forth to compete against their peers from other clubs around the region, against some seriously competitive teams.
Team Al Scott, with Graham Allan, Ross Cotten and Don Campbell, who won the Tuesday Men’s league last season, got into the Provincial Qualifier Final with a 3-1 record, but unfortunately lost out.
Team Franca Lalonde, with Linda Lackner, Andrea Leask and Louise Brown, who were runners-up in the Tuesday Ladies league last season, got into the Provincial Qualifier Semi-Final with a 1-1 record, but then unfortunately also lost out.
These players are an example of the quality of curling our club produces, and we are happy to have these players amongst us.
